K problematike múzejnej terminológie

Terminológia vo všeobecnosti je jedným zo základných fundamentov vedného odboru, základnou podmienkou odbornej činnosti a komunikácie jej výsledkov. Muzeologická terminológia, v kontexte prudkého rozvoja informatizácie spoločnosti ako aj úlohami digitalizácie kultúrneho dedičstva, sa v súčasnosti stáva jednou z naliehavých úloh múzejníctva. Stáva sa limitujúcim faktorom informatizácie múzeí, elektronického sprístupňovania múzejných zbierkových fondov a rozhodujúcou podmienkou dorozumenia a spolupráce medzi stavovskými organizáciami doma i v zahraničí. Napriek snahám v minulosti (Beneš, Stránský, Brůža) možno konštatovať, že v súčasnosti terminologická sústava muzeológie nejestvuje. Národný jazyk, ktorý predstavuje nenahraditeľnú a nezastupiteľnú zložku každého odborného jazyka, je vyspelý jazyk schopný plniť všetky úlohy moderného jazyka, teda aj pomenúvať nové pojmy. Mechanické preberanie cudzích termínov nie je riešením, pretože negarantuje bezporuchovosť odbornej komunikácie rovnako, ako spoliehanie sa na to, že muzeologickú terminológiu budú riešiť tzv. angažované vedné disciplíny. Predložený článok upozorňuje na dôležitosť muzeologickej terminológie z hľadiska komunikácie i na jej význam pre základný muzeologický výskum. Upozorňuje, že ignorovať súčasný stav muzeologickej terminológie v jej najširšom ponímaní by malo fatálne následky a ponúka riešenie tejto, pre muzeológiu kľúčovej problematiky.

Generally speaking, terminology is one of the fundamentals in any branch of science, an elementary condition for any specialist work and for the communication of its results. In the light of the rapid development of informatization in society and the part played by the digitalization of cultural heritage, museological terminology is currently among the most pressing issues of the discipline. It has become a limiting factor in the informatization of museums, as well as in the electronic accessibility of museum collections, and an essential condition for communication and collaboration between museum organisations in this country and abroad. Despite some efforts in the past (Beneš, Stránský, Brůža), it can be said that there is currently no terminological system in museology. A national language, a vital and irreplaceable component of any specialist language, is an advanced language able to perform all tasks of modern language, including the denotation of new expressions. Mechanical adoption of foreign terms is not a viable solution as it does not guarantee smooth specialist communication, and nor is the approach suggesting that museological terminology should be solved by "engaged" scientific disciplines. This article emphasises the importance of museological terminology from the perspective of communication, as well as its importance for basic museological research. It points out that ignoring the present state of museological terminology in its broadest sense would have fateful consequences, and offers a solution to this key museological issue.
