Abstract(s)
Citizen science, the active involvement of volunteers from the general public in the process of scientific research, is an increasingly used research approach in memory institutions. It represents an important opportunity for museums to present their activities to a wider community of people with common interest. Contrary to natural sciences, citizen science projects are marginally represented in the humanities. Presented study aims, among other goals, to describe the possible causes of this uneven representation. It also includes a variety of domestic and foreign examples of good practice, as well as an outline of the positive and negative aspects of citizen science projects and their methodology
