Description
In our contribution we are proceeding several ways on lyrical view of contemporary enviroment or upcoming history of Czech and Slovak 20th century poets (Holan, Kolář, Štrpka, Buzássy) as apocalyptic. Most of them are focusing on critical historical turning points (Holan: 2nd world war, Kolář: replacement of fascistic totalitarian regime by the other one: comunistic, Buzássy: Soviet invasion toCzechoslovakia in 1968). Štrpka is reflecting as apolcalypse nowdays. In everyone of this quartet, we track the inspiration of Eliot's work or similar concepetion of the world, history and literature.
