Abstract(s)
The aim of this article is to examine a passage from letter xii containing a toponym (with the approximate location of the corresponding city), which has been the subject of misunderstanding by copyists of the Latin tradition of the text, due to a lack of precision and, perhaps, geopolitical scenarios that had changed in the meantime. The variants, present in some manuscripts of the translation attributed to Leonardus Bruni, document the effort to make it easier to understand at a time when the geographic reference was not clear enough.
