Volume to the seventieth birthday of Milan Balabán. -- This volume is dedicated to Professor of Religious Studies at the Protestant Theological Faculty of Charles University in Prague. Hebrew letters on the cover. šyr hšyrym, indicate the lopic: Song of Songs. Even as all articles are in Czech, this volume deserves the attention of other readers because of wide area of interests. Among twenty contributors are not only theologians and hebraists, rabbi and Protestant minister. but also philosophers, historians, bohemist, journalist, diplomat, poet, painter. Thus Song of Songs is presented and discussed from various viewpoints. In this volume some original observations and insights are contained. -- Also the biography of Milan Balabán containing data about his oppression under the communist regime deserves attention.
