Proměny dialektu luhačovického Zálesí v uplynulých sto letech

Ethnographer Karel Fojtík (1918–1999) attended Václavík's pre-war lectures taught as a part of his ethnography seminar, where he later worked as an Assistant Professor. Along with J. Kramařík he participated in ideological degradation of Václavík's monography entitled Výroční obyčeje a lidové umění (Prague, 1959) – these facts can be considered to briefly describe the relationship between a student and his teacher. The collection of photographs maintained by the Brno branch of the Institute of Ethnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences contains approximately 180 of Fojtík's photos from fourteen villages from the territory that Václavík's monography refers to as luhačovické Zálesí. Those villages are: Březnice, Dolní Lhota, Doubravy, Hřivínův Újezd, Kaňovice, Ludkovice, Luhačovice, Maršov, Podhradí, Polichno, Pozlovice, Přečkovice, Sehradice and Slopné. In most cases, Fojtík's objects of attention were examples of traditional architecture (houses and farm buildings), as well as contemporary (i.e. "modern" at his time) buildings. The real reason as to why these photos were taken is unknown to us. Their author probably took them as a part of his research and to include them in a book he was preparing about the Gottwaldov region. As a co-author of monographs about contemporary ethnography he stressed the importance of researches: i.e. to collect as much information and material from and about rural lifestyle that was undergoing significant changes at that time.
