Lokální dráha Rájec nad Svitavou – Sloup – Molenburk, aneb O zapomenutém projektu

This article commemorates the intention to build the local railway Rájec nad Svitavou (today Rájec-Jestřebí) – Sloup – Molenburk (today Vysočany). It also briefly mentions other projects dealing with building a railway to the Moravian Karst and development of local railways in Austria-Hungary. The article primarily describes the project and necessary key negotiations, however, the railway route, each of the stations and technical equipment are also described in detail. The article also includes first full biography of the design engineer and builder Ing. dr. tech. Alois Otto Samohrd, who designed the local railway Rájec nad Svitavou – Sloup – Molenburk. The history of this particular local railway and the biography of its designer have not been studied until now. Thus, this study brings new unpublished information, taken primarily from archival sources, less from literature.
