Abstract(s)
The author deals with the question of where to look for reasons of the diver­sity of political development in Slovakia compared with the Czech Republic. He surveys if the main reason of this diversity is more likely the different character of the political elites, or different cultural heritage. He idendifies the main political powers which nowa­days decide about the direction of future development in Slovak society.
