The author of the present study devoted to the jubilee of the significant linguist Roman Mrázek analyzes the traditions of the philological unity in the past as well as several contemporary attempts at "new philology" from the sphere of literary criticism and linguistics linked with a book by A. Korablev and by several linguistic volumes and studies.
