Nový slovník muzeologické terminologie

Touha precizovat a upřesňovat používané pojmy provází vědeckou komunitu od nepaměti. V oblasti muzeologie se se zvýšeným zájmem této problematice věnovala především Mezinárodní komise pro muzeologii – ICOFOM. Výsledkem tohoto snažení pak byl velký počet sborníků, článků i několik monografií, myšlenkově vycházejících především z frankofonního jazykového okruhu. Zvýšený zájem o definování, zejména o samotnou definici muzea, můžeme vysledovat před Generálními konferencemi ICOM v japonském Kjóto (2019) a v Praze (2022). Finálním výstupem se stal monumentální Slovník muzeologie (Dictionary of Museology, Dictionnaire de muséologie) publikovaný v angličtině a francouzštině, v obou případech pod redakcí Françoise Mairesseho. Slovník je výsledkem několikaleté práce více jak stovky muzeologů z celého světa a obsahuje sto hlavních hesel doplněných dalšími stovkami upřesňujících výrazů (entries).

The effort to clarify and refine the terms used has accompanied the scientific community since time immemorial. In the field of museology, the International Committee for Museology – ICOFOM has been particularly interested in this issue. The result of these efforts is a large number of collected papers and several monographs, which are mainly based on the ideas originating from the francophone language area. The increased interest in defining, especially in the museum definition itself, can be traced back to before the ICOM General Conferences in Kyoto, Japan (2019) and in Prague (2022). The final output became the monumental Dictionary of Museology (Dictionnaire de muséologie), published in English and French, both edited by François Mairesse. The Dictionary resulted from several years of work of more than a hundred museologists from all over the world and contains one hundred main entries supplemented by hundreds of additional entries.
