Abstract(s)
The author of the present article deals with the necessity of the plurality of traditions in literary criticism. His contribution was prepared several years ago for a special conference devoted to the centenary of Otakar Novák (1905–1984), professor of romance literatures at Masaryk University. The context demonstrating a wide spectrum of methodological approaches contains a cluster of famous names including Matija Murko, roman Jakobson as well as Prokop Haškovec and Sergii Vilinskij.
