Profétologie : moderně kritické zkoumání hebrejské profétie

Contemporary critical prophets studies are obliged for their development to the whole history of biblical intepretation and its confrontation with a modern thinking, mainly at German universities where the Old Testament managed its peculiarity in confrontation with other theological disciplines. This had prepared a background for questioning prophecy as a specific religious phenomenon (speakers, not writers!), connected especially with H. Ewald, J. Wellhausen and B. Duhm. Due to their benefit, method developed, among others, by H. Gunkel was formed in the first half of the 20th century. Stabilization that followed is related with G. von Rad. Further consequences in the last third of the 20th century brought new development. Both international and interdisciplinary discussions became more intensive, with much more expressive voice of American scholars. In the prophets studies themselves, object of interest spread also to other than biblical analogies. There is apparently stronger dependence on a study of literature and its creation as a whole. This has been sometimes classified as a reversal from a prophetic word to a prophetic book. Despite a benefit connected with the reversal, at the same time it means also an unambiguity displayed by a separation of the disputable connection between historical and literary questioning. Nevertheless, the prophecy studies as a case of studying Hebrew literature and religion provide an opportunity for theology and the study of religions to seek their own ways and specific face as well as to be beneficial each other.
