Description
In the late 1940s, Antonín Václavík led a project the outcome of which was aimed to be represented by the monograph Horňácká dědina, with an additional title being Monografie vesnice Nové Lhoty pod Javořinou (Monography of the village of Nová Lhota pod Javořinou). Following the initial structure of activities, certain efforts were made in the subsequent decade to assemble a team that would include Václavík's former students, as well as professional from other branches of science. By the end of the 1950s all the respective authors of individual chapters had been approached and contacted. The preparation stage for this monography included several master's theses at the Brno department, in the case of which Václavík was the consultant. The project was not abandoned following Václavík's death; however, some changes were made with respect to its structure and staffing. Václavík’s original idea came to fruition in 1966 when the regional monograph Horňácko was published. The life and culture of local people near the Moravian-Slovak border in the White Carpathians.
