Topoi, nebo příbuzná témata? : topika, nebo tematologie?

V hledáčku autorovy pozornosti se objevily tři termíny: topos, loci communes a téma (tematologie). Všímá si, nakolik tyto termíny přijaly literárněvědné soustavy a jak s nimi pracují; shledává především nepříliš korektní používání termínů topos a loci communes, a ještě více nesoustavnosti sleduje v jejich zaměňování s tematologií. Využívá přitom také několik příkladů z české a slovenské literatury a teorie literatury.

The author focuses on terms: topos, loci communes, and thematology. He shows, in keeping with some domestic and foreign literature, that it is correct to distinguish between topos and loci communes; this has not always been the case in ancient rhetoric (loci communes is the Latin equivalent of the Greek topos). The author also emphasizes that it is important to distinguish topos from motive and theme. He criticizes the labelling of themes as topoi (thematology versus topics). The author uses the examples of Czech and Slovak literature and literary theory.
