Zámecká obrazárna v Rájci nad Svitavou a sběratelství rodu ze Salm-Reifferscheidtů ve světle pramenů

The collection of paintings in the chateau in Rájec nad Svitavou is the result of informed collecting of several generations of the Salm-Reifferscheidt family, undoubtedly one of the most important historical collections in Moravia. Recapitulation of written and visual sources, especially inventories, correspondence and photographs made in connection with the preparation of a new critical catalogue of chateau picture gallery brought not only other minor findings to the provenance of individual images, but also provided reliable basis for the evaluation of new historical circumstances, which especially during the 18th and 19th centuries led to its formation. The study presents the most important of these findings, including several series of paintings inventories of Rájec chateau from the first third of the 19th century.
